Personal Artwork
I enjoy charcoal, used to really love vector art, and am currently hoping to improve my digital painting skills.
As the sole designer on this project, I recreated the native Zynga Poker iOS app assets in HTML5/CSS3 to support multiple devices with different resolutions and OSes—iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android (not yet live). I also modified the UI as necessary to accommodate for different environments, and created new art/UI elements for features that weren't a direct port from the mobile app.
As part of the design team, I worked on small and large features in all phases of production: ideation, wireframes, mocks, prepping assets in HTML/CSS for dev. As Producer, I also managed the design-to-dev integration of assets, and maintained an asset library and backups of source files.
Gift shop items I created for Zynga Poker and RewardVille.
I overhauled the UI on both the journal style selection and gift shop pages to be user-friendly and scalable. The previous journal style selection page was just a drop-down text list. I changed it to contain thumbnails with live previews, and categories and search to make it easier to browse or find a particular style. The previous gift shop implementation was one long page with one item per row. In the new version, like the journal style selection page, there are categories for easier browsing and a better showcasing of featured items. This version also improved the user experience—users are now able to add multiple gifts, recipients, and messages to their cart without leaving the page; whereas before, it was a multiple-page process per recipient.

I redesigned the profile and settings pages to make actions more visible, surfaced features and information that was already there but most users hadn't been aware of, and grouped together similar content into sections. In the case of the settings page, I collected various settings options scattered throughout the site into one main settings framework.
I worked closely with the userbase in a public forum, going through multiple betas to test the extremely variable and sensitive aspects of the profile page (i.e. what info is visible to whom, how much the user has filled out, etc.), and contain legacy limitations.

A selection of the 90+ virtual gifts I created for LiveJournal.
These are the journal styles I designed for LiveJournal. All but the first four were also available on Vox. They all come in multiple color variations, and multiple layouts (sidebar left, sidebar right; most also have sidebar left and right, and two sidebars on the right).

The Greater Alameda Business Association wanted a website that would be a one-stop place for their members to go to get information. They wanted to be able to promote their events and promote their members, as well as attract new ones, provide information about their organization and links to various resources in town.
After creating these site pages and adding the members they had at the time, I trained someone who had no HTML experience to update the sections as needed. GABA has been maintaining their own website since I completed it in 2006.
My personal website. It has gone through many transformations since 2002; this is a sampling of a few of its layouts. chasethestars.com has been a creative writing blog, a portfolio, a splash page, and now, a sketch journal and photo diary.
